A regeneration project of this scale requires careful planning. Many different engineering and design projects need to be co-ordinated to successfully redevelop the site.
There will be lots of activity on-site in the coming months. This will include:
- Construction of the road leading from the Houston Road entrance to the heart of the site, for contractors’ vehicles
- Starting construction of a new office building for the Environmental Test Facility – a BAE Systems business that will remain, located in the south eastern sector of the former Royal Ordnance site
- Detailed designs for the first phases of the land preparation (remediation) process
- Engineering design of the two new access roads from the north and south of Bishopton
- Design and planning the installation of drainage and utilities to serve the new development
- Further planning to protect local wildlife and enhance habitats
- Completing the Design Code for the early phases of the new development
- Working with a selection of developers to bring forward the early parts of the development
The project will evolve as things progress. We will keep updating this website to
outline any changes and new information.
